IT IS A POWERFUL ALTERNATIVE TO THE AUTO CAD LOFT COMMAND.

AutoCAD Loft command cannot accept NON PLANE frames as input.

Other limitation in AutoCAD Loft is that it requires the frame and guide lines to be quite in touch to allow the LOFT running.

GENESIS IOD gets enough compatibilities with wide tolerance and will run practically always.

The algorithm used by Genesis IOD trough his command Guidegen is respectful of the proportion of the initial shape, and is based in Descriptive Geometry rules.

In this way the user can get the benefits of both applications.

1  -Genesis IOD algorithm has the power to generate particularly complex but predictable objects, using only plane projections from the design as input (2D view).
2  -The input of GENESIS IOD are (2D view) and plane FRAME or not

3  -The output of GENESIS IOD are plane and compatible with the Auto CAD  LOFT

4  -The LOFT Auto CAD command has the ability to create Surfaces and Solid entities which can be edited, Added, Subtracted, and Intersected with other solids.

That means:

GENESIS IOD Loft option using the Loft AutoCAD command can create a Solid or Surface beyond  the AutoCAD LOFT limitation as we can see in very complex multicurve bodies.

GENESIS IOD use plane frames perpendicular to the Genesis-Path-curve to create a serial of plane FRAMES as a correct input AutoCAD Loft that will allow to create the required Solid or Surface .

In very complex cases, when it is necessary to define a volume which requires NON PLANE  frames, GENESIS IOD can supply a mesh output solution, and obtain the cross section to construct the templates, through the intersection with plane cutting meshes as you can see in an aircraft FAIRING design and construction.

Note:

In some cases, when you employ GENESIS IOD GUIDEGEN or AutoCAD LOFT to solve a design you will not get the same result. If you use only the AutoCAD LOFT command without using GENESIS IOD GUIDEGEN command, you get less predictability and lower control in complex objects, than would be generated with Genesis IOD algorithm.
